Sheep River Revisited, May 26th 2007
Matt has arrived in Canada from New Zealand ready for a summer of paddling and working, so we headed out on Saturday for a run down the Sheep River. Surprisingly it had dropped since last week, though still plenty of fun even at lowish water levels. Here are some pictures courtesy of Nikki Winters.

Sheep River, May 20th, 2007
Yesterday (Sunday May 20th) Junior Development Kayak Team member Sam Coutu and myslef met at the Sheep River near Turner Valley Alberta for a quick morning run before picking up Matt Burton at the airport. We were greeted with sunny skies and a water level a little on the low side but still very runnable. This was Sam's first trip down the sheep, and sporting the Zero Gravity 54 he paddled most of what the Sheep has to offer, and I was stoked to get on Tiger Jaws and Triple Falls for the first time this season. With a well above average snowpack this year the Northern and Central Alberta runs are shaping up for a good long season, and many of the Interior BC runs are already getting pretty high for this time of year. Looks like a pretty epic season ahead of us. Watch this space for more pics and stories

Skiing Sunshine Village - May 14th 2007
After a solid couple of weeks working, it was time for a day off and as the weather gods would have it Sunshine Village in the Canadian Rockies was delivered 15 cms of fresh snow on the evening of May 13th. So on arrival at the top of the Gondola, Nikki and I were greeted with a scene straight out of mid-winter, snow everywhere. The turns in the morning were over boot deep in many places, and there was probably only 100 people on the entire hill enjoying the winter like conditions. As the day wore on the snow got progressively heavier and tougher to ski, so an early finish was in order. Sunshine closes next Monday (May 21st) and only due to lack of interest, the snow up there is still amazing. Let's hope that after this summers melt and epic boating season we will be in for another ski season like the one of 06/07. Check out www.adventuretrippin.com for ski tours in Canada.

April 2007 - Assesor certification, Permanent Residency and more....
Well, sorry no pictures with this post, though some cool news. After years of avoiding 'paper chasing' in the outdoor industry it has finally caught up with me. This past weekend (April 27, 28, 29) I was certified to asess all levels of instructor courses by the AWA.
Not somehting I had ever really considered though now that it is a reality I am super stoked. This month has been sick, having James here and paddling, skiing and basically enjoying life this certification was a great way to top of the month.
That and today (May 5th) after 15 months of waiting I received my permanent residency here in Canada, so no more re-applying for work visas and all that.
So that is the main news here at Adventure Trippin, now just getting ready for a big summer of kayak instructing then planning our expedition trips for October 2007 to May 2008.
Visit www.adventuretrippin.com for some great deals on upcoming trips to kenya, Tibet and more.....
